Check out Woodhouse Day Spa in the July issue of American Spa!

To slow the visible signs of aging, the Woodhouse Signature Minkyti Facial at the Woodhouse Day Spa (multiple locations) features a blend of massage techniques to stimulate the skin. "Minkyti is a Sanskrit word for to knead, as in to knead the dough," says Lynda Torrey, director of education at the Woodhouse Day Spa. "As you knead the dough, it becomes stronger, more elastic and resilient. It is the same concept with the facial, which involves manual techniques such as hydrotherapy, connective tissue massage and accupressure." The facial begins with a signature foot washing, followed by a cleansing and exfoliation. After the face has ben steamed, Naturopathica's Plant Stem Cell Serum is applied. The skin is then treated to Lavendar Bath & Body Oil and Rosehip Seed Regenerating Facial Oil before being spritzed with a lavender-honey mist. Firming and re-mineralizing the skin, the custom blended mask is left on while an arm and shoulder and hand and foot massage are performed. The facial ends with applications of an anti-aging serum, an eye cream, a hydrating lotion, sun protection and lip balm.
